All Blacks vs Argentina Results: Every Test Since 2020

All Blacks versus Argentina has settled into a clear pattern since 2020. The two sides have met 12 times since November of that year: Argentina have won four, each of them by 10 points or fewer, while New Zealand have taken the other eight, none by a margin smaller than 17.

What the scorelines show

Across the 12 tests New Zealand scored 420 points to Argentina’s 185 — an average of 35.0 to 15.4 per game. Those averages sit on top of two very different kinds of result:

• Argentina’s wins were tight. Their winning margins were 10, 7, 8 and 6 points, and they held New Zealand to 30 points or fewer each time.
• New Zealand’s wins were emphatic. Their eight winning margins ran from 17 to 50 points and averaged just over 33.
• Home advantage split evenly on New Zealand soil. The four tests played in New Zealand in this period finished two wins apiece.
• Scoring has climbed. Each of the last four tests, from August 2024 onwards, produced more than 50 points in total.

Three of Argentina’s four wins came in the first of two meetings that season, with New Zealand hitting back heavily the following week. The exception was 2025, when Argentina’s win came in the second test.

The 2025 tests: Córdoba and Buenos Aires

The opener in Córdoba on 16 August 2025 looked one-sided at the break, with New Zealand leading 31–10. Argentina fought back to 31–24 before replacement hooker Samisoni Taukei’aho scored twice off the maul to seal a 41–24 bonus-point win. Sevu Reece also crossed twice, with Cortez Ratima and Ardie Savea adding a try each; Anton Lienert-Brown was sin-binned late for New Zealand.

A week later in Buenos Aires, Argentina won 29–23 to record their first home victory over the All Blacks, ending a run of 14 defeats and a draw in 15 previous home tests dating back to 1985. Juan Martín González and Gonzalo García scored Argentina’s tries, while Billy Proctor, Fletcher Newell and Taukei’aho crossed for New Zealand.

2024: a shock in Wellington, a reply at Eden Park

Argentina opened the 2024 Rugby Championship with a 38–30 win in Wellington — their second victory on New Zealand soil after Christchurch in 2022, and the highest score they have posted against the All Blacks in this period.

The reply came a week later at Eden Park, where New Zealand won 42–10 and extended an unbeaten home record at the ground that stretches back to 1994. That streak also features in our All Blacks vs Australia and Bledisloe Cup guide.

How a line bet on these tests would have settled

Line betting, also called handicap betting, adds a points start to one team before kick-off. A team backed at -12.5 has to win by 13 or more for the bet to succeed; the same team at +12.5 can lose by up to 12 and still cover. The lines below are illustrations rather than the prices bookmakers actually offered, but the arithmetic uses the real results.

Set New Zealand at -12.5 and every All Blacks win in the table covers, because their smallest winning margin was 17. Argentina at +12.5 would land in each of their four victories, so the line splits 8–4 in New Zealand’s favour.

Move the line to -17.5 and the split becomes 7–5, because the 17-point win in Córdoba now falls just short. A single point of handicap can flip a result, which is why it pays to check the exact number before placing a bet.

Betting on the All Blacks from New Zealand

Since 28 June 2025, TAB NZ has been the only operator legally allowed to offer online sports and racing betting to people in New Zealand, and you must be 18 or over to take part.
