Sports-Betting.nz uses artificial intelligence as a tool in producing its content, and we think readers should know exactly how. This policy explains what AI does for us, what it does not do, and how a human editor stays responsible for every page.

How we use AI
We use AI tools, mainly Claude (claude.ai), to support the editorial work. In practice that means:
- gathering and summarising background material at the research stage
- suggesting outlines and page structures
- producing first drafts that an editor then rewrites and checks
- tidying up language, tables and formatting.
AI is never the final word on this site. No page is published straight from an AI tool, and AI does not decide what we cover or what we say about an operator, a sport or the law.
Our human editing
Every draft goes through an editor before it is published. That work includes:
- Fact-checking. Odds examples, rules, dates, results and legal points are checked against reliable sources, with primary sources preferred.
- Correcting errors. AI tools can state things confidently that are wrong or out of date. Anything that cannot be confirmed is removed or rewritten.
- Improving the language. Text is edited into clear New Zealand English that a beginner can follow.
- Adding context. We add the New Zealand angle that a general draft misses, such as local law, local competitions and local support services.
- Keeping it original. We write our own wording and do not copy from other websites.
Why we are open about it
Readers are entitled to know how the content they rely on is made. Being upfront about AI lets you judge our pages for yourself, and it holds us to a standard: if we say a person checks every page, a person has to check every page.
It also reflects what search engines ask of publishers, which is content that is helpful, reliable and written for people first, however it was produced.
Fact-checking and responsibility
Responsibility for what appears on Sports-Betting.nz sits with the site’s editor, not with a software tool. The editor reviews content before publication and decides when it needs updating.
Betting rules, competition formats, operator details and legislation all change, so pages are revised when we become aware that something is no longer accurate. You can read more about who we are and how we work on our About us page.
Our content is information, not betting advice
Whether a page was drafted with or without AI, it is general information. Nothing on this site is betting advice, a tip or a prediction you can rely on, and no outcome in sport is ever certain.
Our content is written for readers aged 18 and over. If you choose to bet, set limits you can afford, and see our responsible gambling page for free support services in New Zealand.
